What is the attraction between Capricorn and Leo? Is it the leadership, the sexuality? If any one has any answers please respond with opinions.

  • I'd say it very well can be the leadership thing, which can attract and repel us Caps at the same time. At least that is the way I feel it, a bit of competition going on there. Plus if someone has the typical Leo quality, the gregariousness, dignity, generousity, drama and creativity I find it quite attractive, though it tends to wear me out after a while, I feel I can't keep up and tend to think "dear Leo, get over youself..". But that may very well be my Mars in Leo and in opposition with Sun and Venus. I'm doomed..
    • I was once with a leo and let me tell you, as a capricorn, it was pure HELL!! I would not advise any cap to partner with a leo, he had the nerve to tell me, before we could really even form a relationship that he was; and I quote "A ignorant muthafucka and I just well-on quite fuckin wit him." Shit!! I did, and he has the nerve to wonder why I don't communicate with him any more and when I see him, I just keep going when i see him; cause he ain't shit to see!! Maybe it will be different with another leo, depending on chart placements.
      Cheers!!
      • Sounds like he did you both a favor, Ada.

I like Leo women. They're strong personally, physically (they're rarely the helpless "girly-girl" type), and sexually, too. Yeah, I'm a big fan. Leo men can, yes, be a bit arrogant (on par with Cap males, but a bit more so), but I find that they usually "walk the walk" as well as "talk the talk." I'd be business partners with a Leo (male or female) in a heartbeat.
  • I am a Cap Sun with Aries moon and Sag rising. My current partner is Leo-Cancer cusp, (he doesnt know his birthtime so dont know other stuff). We have been together nearly a year, and it has been an amazing relationship.

I think we are a great match. We have similar ways of thinking, and we have great conversations. Very stimulating and often quite deep and philosophical too. I have always had good relationships with Leos, my best friend in high school was a Leo, although i find Leo women and men are quite different! Both have a bit of a "snobbishness" to them, but certainly not in the traditional sense... rather I would say its stems from the "royalty" factor (leo-lion-king of the jungle-royalty...) that they will only associate with those who are worthy of their time and energy.. not such a bad thing, I have learned...

Our fires butt heads sometimes, as we can both be quite stubborn if we are in an argument as I think the competitive thing comes out most here, however whilst we can both flare up a fiery temper, we often will get to a point of frustration, and end up parting ways temporarily to cool off a bit, then we rationally talk about it and usually resolve the situation, and often learn something about each other or ourselves along the way.

Our love is strong, and growing, and the physical attraction is there, as is the chemistry (Phwoar... fan those flames!!! tee hee!)... We're best friends and soul mates. We have definitely met before this incarnation, we both feel that... so, to me, caps and leos are a great combo! My best r'ship so far =)

    Shell
  • I am having a similar experience to what Shell is having. Also like Shell, my best friend in high school was a Leo (man she taught me to be wild!). I am Cap sun/Gem moon/ Aq rising and my partner is Leo/Sag moon/Virgo rising, so you can see that we have a bit of a mix and crossover of air and earth. I have a thing for fire, it's not apparent in my chart though. We have been together three and a half years. We also have lots of sextiles in our combined chart -- we are the best of friends. We respect each others' boundaries, and you know I love my boundaries!

One thing that I was warned to watch out for before I got involved with him, was not to try to control the way he creates. Rather, I try to be supportive and I feel more comfortable when I don't have to be out front anyway, that's his expertise. I'll pick up the leadership role only if no one else is doing it -- or if whoever's doing it is incompetent. It drives me absolutely insane when he tries to tell me the best way to do something in my areas of expertise, so I know not to do it to him. I doubt he'd listen to me anyway but I know it would only cause me pain to try to control his processes. Leos have pretty strong wills, like we do, no sense in trying to force them. He is very much like a child, just watch him find his way or fall. He'll figure it out.

We had to make a conscious commitment to communicate about problems (we? me with my Aquarius/Gemini? or him more likely!) but now that's settled, things are pretty good and we'd like to be together for the rest of our lives. Nothing melts the cold Capricorn heart like receiving a card that says, "to the love of my life, on our anniversary." I have never felt a warmth like this from any other love. Even when I first hugged him I felt it.

I have known the flamboyant Leos who have completely pissed me off, so I know those behaviors to watch for, and when he does those typical Leo things I just roll my eyes and think, 'yes dear, you are so beautiful!' I mean how can you not admire how they put themselves out there? And they do it with the greatest of aplomb, just like the cat who lands in a tub of jello and says, Yes I meant to do that. They scale the heights so easily, we prefer to make sure of every step, not missing the view along the way. And when there's a Leo in your view, you are accompanied by the Sun.
  • As a leo female who absolutely adores capricorn men, I am really sad to read some of the posts on here. And I can't deny that they are all absolutely spot on in saying we are not compatible. I would like to give you capricorns some food for thought - one of the major frustrations that leo has with capricorn (and the reason for all our childish, erratic, antagonistic behaviour) is that we want so much to make capricorn happy, but capricorn is so hard to read we never know where we stand. I can't be objective about myself, but i honestly believe that as a leo one of the main pleasures I get out of life is making other people happy. PLEASE will someone tell me what does it take to make a capricorn happy? (BTW - 'if you don't know, you never will' is not an answer - we don't claim to be psychic!)

Whilest I don't condone the way we behave when we can't figure out how to please capricorn, all I can say in our defence is that hitting a brick wall is soul and confidence destroying (symptoms - paranoia, need to flirt with other people, stubbornness - need to assert ourselves to regain some of our self respect).

Come on - there has to be a way for these two signs to work!
  • oh i love Leos! Some of my all time favorite people both men & women are Leos! I love their energy & their playful fun loving side ! Leos have always been really good at getting me to come out of my shell & have a good time. their sensual and confidant & both of those qualities are such turn ons. Leos know how to party & cut loose! the *only* issue i've had with Leos is that they never quite figure out when to STOP the partying & i just don't have the stamina to keep up with it.
    • word.
i feel exactly the same, Bats.
However, i also agree with what someone else said, that Leo men and women are very different. For whatever reason, i get along famously and have awesome chemistry with male Leos, but tend to get into growling matches with the females. No offense to the Leo in this thread, but my experience with female Leos has been that they will smile and joke around in my presence, but work against me behind my back with back-stabbing comments and ridicule. I can't trust that they are being genuine when saving face publicly seems more important to them than nurturing trusting friendships. I experience competitive behavior in both genders, but with the men it's playful banter and usually a fun tumble in the hay. With the females i find myself having to just block out their energy because i won't compete with a woman for anything. Ultimately I win by not playing.

maybe that is what our Capricorn-loving Leo was referring to, and that may explain why the Leo woman at my job dislikes me. I think we misunderstand each other and it plays out in a negative way. I can't seem to get inside her head to figure out what her problem is, and i don't feel safe opening up a dialogue about it.

Some of the best summer flings i've ever had were with Leos. In fact, one summer in particular, i had three of them! Two were within weeks of each other and it turned out that the two guys were born only 12 hours apart. Both had the moon in Cancer, which is always my favorite flavor of Leo. My moon is Cancer too. Leos with water sign moons are best for me, as they are more compassionate to my emotions. A lot of Leos i've met have a low tolerance for other people's issues.

Overall i do not recommend this match, however, as in the case of someone who posted above, Caps with a lot of fire can do very well with Leos, especially the ones with planets in Cancer. My sister's marriage didn't last long...she's a double Leo and her hubby was a very stoic Capricorn. She thought he was lazy and self-centered, and he probably thought she was too high-strung and demanding. I probably would avoid getting seriously involved with a Leo unless he was one of those Cancer moon types. In fact, one of the Leo lovers i had back in the day may be coming out this way to visit...he heh...just in time for summer!
  • As a female Cap (Aquarius rising/Cap moon), I've developed lots of great friendships and working relationships with male and female Leos, though I've never been in a relationship with one. The leadership is definitely an attraction. Leos are interesting.. the ones I know want their egos stroked, but not necessarily in a direct way (though some do).. In my experience, Caps have the patience for the long haul and Leos have huge hearts. Leos like to be heard and acknowledged and Caps are great listeners. Both signs are fiercely loyal, which is probably why my working relationships have gone so well with them. Leos can be moody, though, so you have to spend some time reading them and identifying what they want.. We Caps seem to be experts at that, though.. staying one step ahead.
  • Mine is a bit different. one of my best friends is a Leo. He and I have been friends for 6 years and its quite fun to hang out. He is definetly an Alpha..flamboyant, mouthy and arrogant. but I find that hanging out with him, I have a better sense of myself and learn from how much of a jackass he makes of himself at rare times.
