So, I was reading over on another forum and at least 3 people (all Leos) had the same experience of Cap friends who hang out with them hardcore for a little while partying, having a good time, but then disappear suddenly for weeks or months on end. Then when they finally saw them again and said how worried they were, Cappy just shrugged and seemed confused at the idea of someone worrying about them.

I have to admit that this is something I do with just about everyone, particularly a Leo friend of mine. I don't know whether it's a particular cappy trait, but when I feel down or over-stressed, I feel like I have a responsibility not to inflict that on other people and to protect them from it. I also just plain feel like being alone or sometimes I'll get really involved with something new and different to kind of re-charge and have an outlet for all that crap. The idea of someone worrying about me just seems completely absurd, somehow.

Anyway, the reason I think I do this particularly with my Leo friend is that I feel like when I'm in her company, I'm expected to be all sh**s and giggles and play the faithful audience member (whether she's being a crack-up or laying on the couch lamenting about old bfs) no matter how I'm feeling. Sometimes it's a lot of fun to do that and I don't mind. Other times I just have too much of my own to worry about to even have the idea on my radar screen. I love her to death, she's a lot of fun, and she can be incredibly generous... just not with attention. I try to be fair by just not asking this of her and in turn she respects that I don't always want to give her my attention. I don't think it's necessarily a total Leo thing, but I wonder what's going on in her chart and how it's interacting with mine on this.

Anyway, I was wondering how many other Caps go into isolation when they feel done in and if there's any particular person they avoid the most when they feel down and out.

My favourite capricorn of all time is Katherine MacGregor, the lady who played Mrs. Olesn in "little house on the prairie". What a witch. Love her!

i havent been on tribe in ages but as i was looking up things about signs i decided to come here and seek advice from fellow cappys. i dont like to take astrology literally but its interesting and much of what i read about capricorn does in fact fit me, with some of the details being SPOT ON.

i dont want to put too much of my personal business online but i met this female a while ago, and have been friends with her. at first there was an instant clique and we pretty much became friends instantly. over the past there has been quite a bit of flirtation between us and i had an attraction towards her. i never went hard to let her know it because i like to test the waters and find out who is true to me. doubts always creep in my mind and i have 2nd thoughts about who a person.

she is friends with EVERYONE. shes very friendly and seems very open hearted. it drive me crazy how this girl can be friends with anyone so easily. she also seems very naive. are leos generally naive? while past events have shaped me to not trust anyone (everyone ive come across has fucked me over) and i tend to put a big wall up, i think she trusts way too easily and sets herself to get hurt. i just think she needs to be more guarded and cautious of who she lets in. i can see through most people, i dont think she can.

my intitial attractive was she seemed honest and sincere...and different from the rest of females. she also seemed to have "motherly qualities", if that makes any sense. i guess i saw something that said she would a good mother to my kids which is important. im at the point where i really want to find that someone and start a family now. we even had a joke about having lots of babies.

im not even talkin about physical attraction....she has that but i dont look at her for it.

fast forward to a couple months ago and she had been ignoring me altogether with. i got tired of it and i let her know. i lashed out and spoke my mind and probably came off as cruel, something ive never done with her because ive played the background and not let myself show through too much. she claims she didnt ignore me, and as soon as i decided to brush her off and give her a dose of her own medicine, she want hard trying to grab my attention.......flirts and all. i gave it the cold shoulder.

i feel like she does not respect me and does not care about me. to care about someone and have them flat out ignore you hurts. im willing to give people second chance but....i dont know. before i confided in her because i thought she was someone i could confide in.

ive read all about how capricorns and leos are not compatible and that its a disaster waiting to happen. when i asked her what signshe was and she said leo it was like a knife in my heart, like an instant death certificate.

do i completely dead even a friendship ? i dont want my heart to hurt,, but i want to save myself the pain that would go along with something happening further along down the road. i dont want females as just friends/acquaintances in my life. i want something eserious and dont have time to spend being someones friend. maybe that sounds cold but its the it works. chances are a friend isnt going to be by my side, and if i want a girl i want her for myself. if its doomed to begin i need to get rid of this person altogether with in my life.

do i tell her everything on my mind and completely reveal my feelings? i dont wanna look like a fool. i also dont wanna keep feelings bottled in.

i dont know what to do. im confused and hurt ....sorry for some of the jumbled thoughts. its hard to keep my mind in check right now. maybe im just looking for something where nothing exists. maybe i screwed it up myself by being stupid and overreacting. i dont know.

this is a long story. if it bores you, don't feel obligated to keep reading nor give advice...

january 2008 i met this guy. we hit it off instantly. it almost seemed like it was too good to be true (for both of us). at the time, i had never been involved with a capricorn and wasn't very familiar with their character traits and needs (which i'm now much more aware of), and if i had known then i might have approached the relationship from a different perspective. too late for that now...

we spent 2 quick but great months together then about as quickly as it ignited it ended. we went out of town to meet his family (which was the easiest family meet and greet ever and they seemed to really like me) then the next day it ended. there was no real tanglible reason for the breakup, except that he said he wasn't sure how he felt about me. until a week prior nothing, everything seemed great, but then he suddenly started pulling back right before going to meet the family. after he was saying these things to me, he kept apologizing, saying how he had never met a woman like me who respected him the way i did, that he wanted us to still be friends, etc. something about him made me strong and i held my head high and told him that he had to do what he needed, so it ended.

3 weeks later, we run into each other at a local wine bar. he's the type of man who always knows exactly what to say and how to say, and as soon as he saw me, looked like a deer in headlights and could hardly say anything. a few days later he called. the next week we met up for a drink, and there we sat with the same ease we had always had together. he tried to bring up the breakup but it was too fresh for me to talk about. i said the only thing i needed to say about that subject, pointing out to him that there we sat across from each other, not in a relationship and that there was something still there. he looked at me, shook his head and told me i was right. after a couple of hours we hugged, said goodnight and parted ways. over the course of the summer we met up for drinks two or three other times. he stated to me more than once how he had never been friends with someone after dating them and that our time together was cool because of this. each time we met up, there was no lack in conversation and we were so natural and easy together. so much so that suring one of our meetups, our server apologized for being seemingly negligent but said we seemed to into our conversation that she didn't want to interupt nor bother us.

then there was an episode in august. i had gone blueberry picking and had too many to eat on my own. i asked if wanted some then left some at his door. a couple days later i texted to see if he wanted to catch a movie with me and i got no response (which in hind-sight, i know i probably shouldn't have done). the next time we talked on the phone he said that he felt like i was wanting to get back together and that that wasn't what he needed at the time. i was somewhat offended at his statement and told him that i was there to be his friend but that it was his responsibility to believe my sincerity. after saying that i told him i thought it would be best for me to step away and if he ever decided he was ready to accept my friendship to call. he's determined when he puts his mind to something, like most caps, and i honestly thought that was the last of it with him.

3 weeks later, he calls, telling me he wants my friendship. i was hesitant but decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. a few weeks later i went to his studio (he's an artist) to see his new work, which he was wanting me to see (he knows that i get him as a person and as an artist and that i am one to encourage him when things might be hard). when i got to his place, i was prepared with my guard up but as my time with him passed, it was still so apparent that there was something still there. we weren't even standing near each other since he was by his paintings and i was looking from a distance to give feedback and i could just feel the way he was looking at me. i didn't want to over stay my visit, so i told him i needed to go, he continued conversing and offered me a beer (which i declined), so we chatted for a bit more but i was very conscious about not overstaying my visit. he walked me out and told him he wanted us to spend more time together.

here was my problem. he always said things like that and i felt like he wasn't very good about following through with the things he said. i tried to not let it bother me because i felt like the chemistry when we were together was more telling then when he followed through with calling or making some attempt to hang out. and in all honesty, i was still attached. i did still care. i did want more, but i was always too respecting, compassionate and understanding of his needs that i never tried to put that energy out. but i did hit a breaking point right before thanksgiving. i was tired of being frustrated and i was tired of still caring for him, so i told him i needed go my separate way. being the gentleman that he is, he got it and respected me in return. this was last novemember.

a couple months later (end of january 2009) i sent him a voicemail telling him that our time apart had been good for me and asked for his friendship back if he was willing and open to it. i didn't know it at the time, but he had just moved back home (not far, just about an hour), and i never heard anything from him.

then 3 or so weeks ago i sent him a text, telling him that the past was water under the bridge (which i sincerely felt was my truth) and that i hoped we could be friends someday. for some reason there were lots of things popping up in my life that were reminding me of him and my intutition was telling me that there have been some frustrations in his life, so i sent the text. since i never got a response from the january vmail, i didn't think i'd hear anything back. well, on wednesday of this past week he called. i was having coffee with a friend and didn't hear the phone ring. then when i saw it, i was in such shock and my heart started pounding. he said he was pleasantly surprised to see my text from the couple of weeks prior and that he would enjoy catching up and seeing howing my life was going. a couple days later i called back and had to leave him a vmail. that was friday. we haven't touched base yet but we will. and as much as i thought i was over him, the feelings are coming back to me.

i know that caps are slow to adjust to things, particularly love and relationship. i think initially the relationshp was too much too fast for him and he pulled the reigns, which i got. but one thing i can tell you is that he trusted me more than most. he was always comfortable being open about his life, his dreams, his failures, etc. i don't want to read into anything. i tell myself i'm too old and too sophisticated for that but sometimes it's hard since i am a female. i know that if he didn't care on some level (which doesn't mean it's more than friendship, i know) he wouldn't have reached back. i guess a part of me feels like things were never buried because they were left on the most amiable and respectful terms.

so if anyone has managed to make it through my verbose story and has any words of advice or encouragement, i would be ever so grateful.

My Cap is kinda of preachy, sharp tongued, judgmental. Ready to POUNCE on an "ah-ha" YOU didn't do ...X!"
(I noticed it because every time it was assumptions and he was proven WRONG. Getting obvious. If it was my Gem X, I'd say he was looking for justification to backslide in some relationship aspect - finance/fidelity).
He has been pessimistic, sharp, and mean mouthed about siblings, my family members. Unusally angry about odd things.And indulging in smoking and beer too a overboard extent. Complaing of a bad day right after having said at dinner it was a pretty good day.

He comes home to dinner, a clean house, errands done and me EVERY day with very few exceptions (appts and like).
Our home is is comfortable, soothing and well decorated (I AM a Libra after all). My hobbies and projects are unfinished but not in sight or important. Our bills are paid though he bears the brunt at present because I can't be active military until I have a safe custody situation for my little one here. That translates to being married or giving up custody. But he has 60% of his income that is not going to household bills or to me in any way. He is on a break from school. So what is the problem?

It is his bright spark idea that I am SAHM. If we stagger schedule I can work at night. No way we can afford daycare and expense of me having a day job.
WE both look young for our ages though he got fat in the middle recently. We like a lot of the same things, though we don't have a reliable sitter currently so I can't go on MC ride with him often. Now suddenly he is bored says he. What?!!! 0_o

I am a Libra/Gem/Leo a little stuffed under this lifestyle but quite content ---until that bombshell!! This is HIS schedule, HIS budget, HIS ideas on WHAT to do for the weekend. HIS control.
But it is not like I never make suggestions! Libra IS a Cardinal sign though subtle. But I am chart heavy in mutables so I can flow and not fight for ideas.

My emotional vibe says he feels really insecure for some reason. He usually and (to me) obviously comforts himself assuring my attraction for him. Which I am most happy to accommodate...LOL. But after almost three years together again it sometimes is a little offending of my sensibilities. But in a time I am bored to tears, have zero social contacts and activities other than the gym and mommy stuff? It hit a sore spot !
Worse is an event we are invited to, when I asked the when of it (so I don't keep him waiting in primp time) he says "you don't have to go if you don't want to".
When does "Hey hon, what day are we going to that BBQ . I want to go shop for my mom sometime this weekend" ="I don't have time/don't want to go"?

It woke up my 8th house Cap and my Scorpion Neptune. To me he nearly screamed _" I don't want you to be at THIS party but you already were personally invited". But Why?
Because they see he is STILL with ME and not married? (He nearly married a total flake off the INTERNET 6 mos prior after an 7 months of weekend dates and a move in)
Or has he been talking negative about me?
Or is afraid I may repeat some of his work gossip?
I mean gee whiz! You'd think (currently) chubby middle age guy with a hot girlfriend who can speak engineering or fashion is a Capricorn DREAM! and I am his best spin doctor.
anyways.. it has been some rough, crappy crabby weeks since May started and I feel it is building to something stupid if he is not in good control of himself right now. And if it is planetary maybe I can try balancing actions to prevent any remorseful event.
But my own transits are having a rough go so I m touchy tempered and impatient myself and so damping those impulses.

And that is Why I started searching out some cappy refuges to see what is up.

This Cappy gets single again it will be ALL on him this time! And he wont get to come crying to me again. I do have some pride and limits.
A man who comparing every woman he knew to me and them not making the mark for 20 years and was literally crying in front of military buds over his beer over ME a whole 5 years after our final physical and personal contact oughta be more careful and appreciative of second chances!

venus in capricorn....retrograde (ouch)

i'd like to hear some personal experiences if anyone has any.

my opinion is simply that venus in capricorn is already inhibited (not into making the first move when initiating a relationship; strongly attracted but shows a cold and aloof facade, slow to trust, slow to expose theirself, etc.) but venus retrograde in capricorn would perhaps, at least in my case, have some serious hang ups.

any advice for a girl who's initial reaction when attracted to someone is to completely avoid that person... and or act completely normal and unfazed.... you know... the cool, calm, and collected routine.

Ok, I have trouble sitting down and doing something for hours if I'm not passionate about it. I'm a Leo/Scorpio type (mostly water and fire, hardly any earth =(... )
For me school is usually great fun for the first month or so, then when I feel it becomes repetitive, I start to hate it. This greatly affects my GPA!

And Happy Birthday to me. Was it just me or were all the other Cappies feelin extra HAWT on New Year's? I was so flirted with and fawned over, I had no idea what to do with myself. Nothing like a good ego strokin (with several possibilities for other types of strokin) to make your night. I had some strange sort of luck going on, too. Everything went wrong and the stage was set for me to think my night was going to be a total, bitter bust, but then it ended up much better than I could've foreseen.

nov. 27 jupiter/pluto crash into earth!

This Nov. 27 I had a dream about Jupiter followed by another planet.
From Earth I saw, with a friend, Jupiter getting larger and larger. It was getting so big! This was because it was coming closer and closer to earth. Behind Jupiter, which in my dream looked whitish with a surface similar to the moon, was another planet, with a softer surface and a darker color, kinda like a shadow. Jupiter didn't stop coming to Earth, and crashed into it causing Earth to bounce in and out like a water balloon. This I saw as if I was not on Earth, from a satellite view. Everything was destroyed except for the city of San Francisco, because we had the best earthquake preparation.

I found this dream even more interesting after learning about Pluto beginning its journey through Capricorn for the first time in almost 250 years, accompanied by Jupiter! And even more so after reading here about Nov. 27 being the start. Perhaps the planet behind the Jupiter in my dream was Pluto.

Just wanted to share! I am always dreaming and love to share. I wonder if you guys have any thoughts.
And is it Nov. 27, 2009 that Pluto enters Capricorn or 2008?

Pluto in Capricorn

Well Pluto turns direct November 27th in the sign of Capricorn for 15 years. This is the first time it has occured since the American Revolution. Supposedly this is good for us Capricorns (read November Horoscope for where I heard this information).

What do you want Pluto to do for you?!?! What are your long-term goals that you are going to start working on starting now?!?!

I am hoping that this means I can start to get working on the career path I truly want to follow. I am hoping that starting to get into this yoga studio that I am interested into that I can create a business out of this. I hope that it helps open many doors for me to spend more time working/helping people. I hope to take on a volunteer position that is dear to my heart (haven't picked anything yet). I also hope to be able to get a job...maybe part time in my field of study, accounting, to be able to pay the bills :)

I also hope that I get some personal time to be single until the end of this year, but do hope that I find my soulmate with in the next year or so...If not a male to marry then a best girl friend to hang out with all the time so I wont feel so lonely partying. Lol....

In the first ten days of November, plan to spend time seeing friends, sharing confidences, and catching up with life's little details. Lunches and dinners that you book with friends will be time well spent. Plan a few nights out. You deserve a little fun!

Venus will enter Capricorn for the first time this year on November 12, stay until December 7, and will be a marvelous influence. By slowing down just a little, you will be able to get yourself in the mood for the coming holidays. Start thinking about the various outfits you'll need for the holiday parties you'll be attending. Venus will help you find flattering things.

Your career will have several wonder-moments this month. Where you have been working on a creative project, you will see a fine finish to it within three days of the full moon, November 13. Uranus will challenge Saturn on November 4 in a major dialogue that will begin this month and be repeated twice in 2009, February 4 and September 15, and twice more as these oppositions continue on April 26 and July 26, 2010.

You could not find two planets more opposite in nature. Uranus is all about innovation, rebellion, and the breaking of old structures. Saturn is a conservative planet that preserves what is of value from the past.

Now that these two planets will be in 180 degree opposition, there will be a great opportunity to move forward assertively, but all the while mindful that you must not throw out the baby with the bathwater. Innovate yes, but not at the price of tossing out everything you've achieved. As a society, we will have this meditation, and many will have this discussion on a personal level, too. Your ruling planet is Saturn, so you may feel this aspect more directly.

These two planets will have their dialogues in your two houses of opinion and learning, so you may feel a need to revise or update a long held attitude or opinion. Once that full moon delivers its message (possibly as early as December 10 or as late as December 16), you will need to give whatever is happening at your office your full attention. You seem to be thinking about whatever comes up over the ensuing weekend, December 13-14, too. I feel you may not be able to complete your holiday list of things to do, as this full moon will be a very jarring and distracting influence.

December 12 is a popular time to ship packages at the post office, so plan to ship no later than December 9. If you have children and other family members depending on you to make the holiday fun, knowing this full moon will be stressful will urge you to clear your calendar prior to December 12. Fortunately, by the time the holidays come by, gradually you will be able to regain your sense of balance, but for a while, some of the time you thought you had to get ready for the holiday will disappear into a black hole.

Your solar sixth house will be activated, so it's possible that you will not be feeling as energetic as you normally do, or that you will be susceptible to colds and flu. Last year I got the flu on December 15 and saw my holiday start to unravel before my eyes, all the while feeling helpless. This year I went for my flu shot early (it takes three weeks to work), and I will also put up my Christmas tree on December 6, a good deal earlier than usual.

Everyone of every sign will feel the fallout of this angry full moon December 12. Keep in mind that this full moon will be in Gemini, not Capricorn, so you may not feel the effects as strongly as the mutable signs of Gemini, Sagittarius, Virgo and Pisces. Even so, you may feel pulled off course for a few days, and those may be days you desperately need to get things done at holiday time!

let's talk about something besides hooking up. Like my collection of trinkets and found natural objects that takes up an entire storage closet and i've managed to carve out a little space for a chair so i can stay up all night and assemble the clever little bits into reliquaries and off-the-hook jewelry. I make stuff out of whatever i have--scarves out of ripped up old sarongs from a massage parlor, owls out of glass charms and pussy willows, collages with McDonald's trash and Bible story books....

any other uber-creative goats in here?

This is a topic that keeps cropping up for me as i explore the process of refining my multi-leveled existence.
It is important to me that my standards are only being raised as i mature--i have come a long way and i believe that raising my standards has only brought good things into my life. But the downside is that as you raise your standards, you find more and more people who don't meet them. This can result in snobbery or a judgmental attitude towards others, and as lonely goats, we don't want to make it any harder for us to make and keep friends.

When i say "standards" i mean in terms of general cleanliness, organization, quality, communication, functionality, etc.. I've noticed that a lot of people think that they keep their place clean, for example, and then someone else with higher standards might be the one to notice that the windowsills are dusty or there is old soy sauce spilled on the floor under the counter. So it's all relative and i guess we would do best to surround ourselves with people of similar standard levels...but the world doesn't always work that perfectly. There will always be a co-worker who spills at the coffee machine and doesn't clean it up. There will always be the people who throw cigarette butts out their car windows and spit loogies on the sidewalk and friends who tell you how great the new sushi place is but you'll find it to be very low in quality.

The two signs i know to be the most picky about things like this are Capricorn and Virgo. Taurus would probably be #3, and Scorpio #4, or maybe duke it out with Taurus for #3. We like things a certain way, especially material things. What's ironic about Capricorn (and this has been noted by several of my friends who have a lot of Cappies in their lives) is that we are incredibly discerning about some things, and rather lax about others. Here are some examples of my own paradoxes (and please offer up your own, as this could be amusing)

1) i want my home to be perfect. I want everything to have a place, and be stored neatly away. I love the feeling of coming home to a perfectly clean, neat house. BUT, for some reason i am my own nemesis and have random stuff piling up in several areas of the house, which only attracts more stuff, and dust, and spiders. There is a little pile on top of the dryer, one in the corner of the living room, one on my desk, two under my desk, two full tubs of random crap that i pushed off of the desk in the last three months, a pile next to my bed, and one at the foot of the bed. The piles grow until the day when i freak out, take the day off from work and attack the piles. I can't keep up with cleaning the toilet. It always gets nasty before i remember to clean it. It drives me nuts. I need a self-cleaning toilet! I want my yard and garden to be maintained spotlessly, and i do my best to keep it this way. But again, i tend to leave piles of things that i'm not done working with--garden tools, plastic plant containers, potting soil, random shit, and this clutters around the front door until the day when i am so sick of seeing it that i will make myself late to work cleaning it all up.

2) On the occasions when i've found something undesirable in my food at a restaurant, like a hair or a bug leg (really, that happened once!), i have been utterly mortified and never returned to that place, and further, wrote a bad review for them on yelp.com. But i regularly eat food off of the floor at my house, have always done so, and once i picked up a scoop of ice cream that fell in the middle of the road and put it back onto the cone. Ok that was in high school, can't say i'd do that again. But isn't this kind of weird? That i would send back silverware in a restaurant that wasn't perfectly clean, but i'll use the same dishtowel over and over until it's all full of food and bacteria, having to remind myself constantly that i have a whole drawer full of clean ones. Many times i have thrown out a few moldy pieces of bread or tortillas but still used the rest, picking a little spot of mold off if the rest of the piece looked ok. I've cut off rotten parts of fruit and used the good part. I eat with dirty hands when i'm camping, but not when i'm in the city. Some dirt is ok, and some isn't. And i think it's all subjective.

3) I buy expensive makeup at a department store now that i can afford to do so. Not everything--just a few items, and then others like eyeliner i will get at a drug store. I live in extremes when it comes to shopping for clothing---pretty much it's either Value Village, or Nordstrom (like Macy's). One day my attitude is, "i won't pay more than $5 for a tank top" and the next, "i don't care how much this is, i want it, NOW." I value good design and i have an eye for color--i will only wear colors that go perfectly with my complexion, and again, i don't care if the item came from a thrift store or a fancy department store, it's the cut, the color, and how it flatters my figure. It blows me away to see people who just don't know how to dress themselves--especially if i see a woman wearing a top that was made for B-cup boobs and she's got D's, and the top is just floating above her boobs. Or women who wear super low rise jeans when they have way too much hip chunkins hanging over the waistband, or women who teeter around in heels that they can barely walk in, just to look sexy. I try my best not to harsh on people and this is a stupid human-level topic but it's another manifestation of my high standards, that clothing fit the body well or not be worn. On the other hand, my standards aren't so high in regard to how long i will keep a pair of shoes or t-shirt or pants. I still have clothing from high school (1987!). Mostly it's the stuff that i sleep in, or my "day off" sweats. But shoes? I have a pair of suede mules that my grandma bought me in 1995 and they have almost disintegrated but i still wear them once in a while. I will wear the same bra for years, fixing it myself if i have to. I reconstruct my clothing before i buy new stuff, in most cases. Underwear? i just reconstructed my underwear to fit me after i lost 40 lbs. this year. Most people would buy new underwear. I don't have time for that, easier to hop on the sewing machine and take the side seams in a few inches.

So i could go on and on here but i should stop before i bore everyone. Mainly i wanted to bring up this topic because Capricorns have a reputation for invariably craving sleek possessions, for wanting the best of the best, for having excellent taste and being highly critical of food, interiors, clothing, cars, etc.. But don't we all have this crusty side that defies our standards sometimes? It's probably a result of the extreme practicality we inevitably revert to even after episodes of retail therapy or high culinary indulgence. Many of us have learned how to survive with the bare essentials--i myself have lived in the woods in a school bus, fighting against the wind, rain and cold, battling mold and lichens, trying to find my underwear....and these are excellent skills to have in an uncertain world. Perhaps our indulgent, extravagant side is the celebration of our ability to play hard once in a while (ok, once in a blue moon...). After all, we are perhaps the hardest working sign of the zodiac. Except of course for the Virgos who do all the work that we are too proud or too lazy to do ourselves.

I want to hear some examples of your oxymoronic living standards. I think we could all have a good laugh at ourselves in doing so.

The world is your oyster this month, and if your skeptical Capricorn side should doubt this, you will have plenty of evidence of the truth of this by the time the month is done. You now find yourself in an enviable position, able to pick and choose among the very best opportunities. Even though planets will throw a few tantrums at the full moon, September 15, you seem to be able to rise above just about anything that comes your way.

Last year, on December 18, 2007, Jupiter entered Capricorn for the first time since 1996. At that time you were crowned the celestial favorite. Often during golden years such as this, we find we are so busy planting seeds for the future that we barely have time to realize how potent a period it is. This could be the case for you. A whole new chapter is rapidly opening up for you, almost daily, right before your eyes!

If you feel that 2008 has not yet produced many thrilling events, it is probably because since May 9, Jupiter has been retrograde in Capricorn, putting Jupiter in a very a weak position. Jupiter is the planet of good fortune, and when he is in good shape, you are, too. Hold that thought - you'll like what you are about to hear.

Meanwhile, Pluto, the planet of transformation, is currently finishing up a long tour of Sagittarius, a tour Pluto started in 1995. It takes 246 years for Pluto to circle the Sun, so when Pluto settles into Capricorn on November 27 of this year, it will be for a fifteen-year stay. During that time Pluto will completely transform your life in a gradual way, from the inside out. The longer a planet spends in a house, the more indelible the experience.

Pluto works a bit like a contractor who begins with the very foundation - the basement so to speak - and works his way up, making sure the structure of your life is sound. If he finds cracks, he will bring them to your attention. At that time you can choose either to repair and strengthen the foundation, or to demolish or abandon that structure altogether and build a new one. It's all very exciting and you hold the keys to what happens. Pluto can make you a force to be reckoned with, for once Pluto enters Capricorn in November, Pluto will increase your determination and rebound ability enormously.

Obviously, because Pluto is so very slow moving, many people never get to experience a tour of Pluto in their sign during their lifetime. You, on the other hand, are on the cusp of that experience this year.

Pluto and Jupiter went retrograde in April and May, respectively, so since those months you've not had much cosmic support. A retrograde planet is a weak planet, so you've probably been a bit frustrated by the slowness of your progress, but not for long.

All that changes on September 8 when both planets will go direct, ironically on the very same day. This will change everything! Put a big red circle on September 8, plus or minus about two days. Look for signs that your life is about to move forward again - you should see at least one obvious, gratifying sign to cheer you!

You will be urged to grow and change and not be overly cautious. You will have a margin for error, for Jupiter will catch you if you make a misstep. With Jupiter in your sign, you are the golden one, a role you will have until January 5, 2009.

In your next cycle, beginning in January 2009, you will begin to see the seeds that you've planted come up in your garden. If you have an idea you need to get support to launch, it will be vital that you see anyone who would be willing to help you further your aims. Jupiter will help you attract the attention of VIPs, and soon you'll see your dreams take shape.

There are other things going on this month, so let's move on to those.

Let's backtrack a bit and look at an aspect occurring on September 3. Many people you know will have problems on this day, but you seem to deal with whatever needs to be done more easily than most. Saturn, your ruler, will conjoin the Sun. These two elements of our solar system are very different. Saturn is cold and frozen, modest, cautious, and practical, while the Sun is exuberant, fiery hot, and magnanimous. The Sun is the ultimate authority figure, but Saturn is the zodiac's taskmaster. In this configuration, Saturn will overshadow the Sun's warmth, so it will be quite a no-frills, "Let's get down to basics" kind of day.

You are ruled by Saturn, so for you, this is no sweat. On September 3, you will be asked to exhibit visionary leadership while remaining practical and circumspect. You may make an important commitment at this time.

On September 3, Saturn may make you feel a bit more tired than usual. The Sun rules vitality, but Saturn will exert a constricting influence. If you should start to notice that you are seeing the proverbial glass as half empty rather than half full, your pessimism may be due to simple exhaustion. Getting more rest will put you back in good form again.

You will be thinking in big, broad terms now, and you may be working on a very difficult deal that you need to bring to closure. The person you are talking with may be someone based abroad, or who is involved with a university or higher education in general. If you set the deal on September 2 or 3, it would be in place a very long time.

On the very next day, September 4, you would have a superb and rather miraculous opportunity to iron out any wrinkles that have come up, for Jupiter will be in perfect angle to the Sun. Reaching accord should be a piece of cake. This would be an excellent day to make a proposal, present an idea, or have a meeting with a VIP. You may make a big sale and earn a good commission. Use this day for all your most important talks!

Some Capricorns are in college or grad school, or are taking very tough qualifying exams in September's first week. Other Capricorns work in the media for publishing or broadcasting companies, and if that's you, you will be busy concentrating on a major project. Whether you work in the media or academia, the time around September 3 may prove to be a big week. At times you may feel like you have too much to do. Jupiter in Capricorn will open a path, however, so you'll do fine, and even make it all look easy, despite your fears to the contrary!

Your career will go great guns in September, so keep pushing with all your might! This month stands as one of your very most important for professional advancement.

Mars entered your career zone last month on August 19 and is still working hard on your behalf. If you have very specific goals you want to complete, the strong momentum you've built should carry you onward and upward. You need to push very hard toward getting the attention of VIPs who can help you during the first two weeks of the month. With Venus, Mars, and Mercury at the very top of your chart, you are liked and the buzz about you is very positive! Take full advantage of these vibrations as they shine!

Mercury, however, will go retrograde from September 24 to October 15. You'll have to be patient during that phase while you sort out your options. You may get a good offer soon, but it appears that you may not get the whole story now - there's more to this you need to know. It's not that anyone is being duplicitous, but more likely that the people you are dealing with don't know either.

In another application of how things could work out, you may be surprised to see another offer surface from another source after Mercury goes retrograde, or after it turns direct. That's why you shouldn't be too quick to agree to anything this month. Mercury retrograde periods always indicate that things are in flux and that change on some level is due soon.

Travel may suddenly come up at the full moon on September 15. This will be an unsettling time of the month, for if you do travel, you would have to go very suddenly and unexpectedly. You may run into engine trouble, so be sure your car is in good working order before you leave. (This trip would not likely take you far from home.)

Your boss may need you to travel to complete a deal that you've been working on, but as just said, it would not be a good time to draw up a contract. This time, however, the reasons go beyond Mercury retrograde.

With Uranus conjunct the Sun on September 12, and the full moon on September 15, any partnership you set up would be very volatile, and that would continue through the life of the relationship. Take your time and study all the fine print. The planets will clash loudly at mid-month, so you certainly don't want to create the birth of your relationship on such unsteady ground. Get the major points settled and then set to work on the smaller points, taking your time. I would suggest you sign in October, from October 18 onward. I particularly like the new moon, October 29.

You also appear to be very focused on family this month, so you may need to see your sister, brother, cousin, aunt, uncle, or an in-law. Admittedly, September 15 will bring a tense full moon that will also prove to be quite emotional. It may be impossible not to feel the harsh aspects that will be at play for everyone at that time.

Thankfully this full moon will fall in compatible Pisces and in fine angle to your Capricorn Sun - so whatever comes up, you will be able to solve and even possibly benefit from in the end.

If your birthday falls on January 13 plus or minus four days, this certainly could be said for you!

Lucky you, your career is about to get ANOTHER big push forward at the new moon, September 29, and in the two weeks that follow. By month's end, you will have the Sun, new moon, Mars, and Mercury in your house of fame. Wow! That is a LOT of energy.

All new moons open a window of two weeks, but the news you hear, the opportunities that surface, and the talks that you conduct directly after the new moon are more potent that you might suppose. In the natural flowering of the seeds that you slowly plant at month's end, a new chapter in your professional life will be born.

A high-level person you used to work with, or whom you almost worked with, may now reappear and be the person who brings you the offer. If so, this opportunity may be your most golden. Going back to past relationships is always a treat when Mercury is retrograde, and if your new opportunity represents a look back to the past, you can move forward - no waiting. It's the only exception to the rule of "no taking a new position while Mercury is retrograde." See what develops!

Mars will leave your tenth house of honors, awards, and achievement on October 4, but as you see, the new moon of September 29 will pick up the banner and help to push you into a new realm. All the news is good, dear Capricorn!

You certainly have a full plate this month, and it won't allow for much time to think about romance. However, once Venus moves into Scorpio on September 23, you will see a nice uptick to your social life from then until October 18.

Summary

All year Jupiter, the giver of gifts, has been in Capricorn, making you the celestial favorite for just about any activity. You may not feel Jupiter has been working for you, but it has, at a somewhat lower level. The reason for this is that Jupiter has been in a weak, retrograde orbit since May 9, but will awaken to full strength on September 8. From then on, better days are in store! No more waiting - the good begins to flow. To get your cosmic goodies, you'll need to show the universe what you want. Showing your intention will lead you to success.

Pluto will also go direct, and that too is good news. Pluto is now at the very end of Sagittarius (actually only one and one-half degree away from Capricorn) and is set to enter your sign in late November. Pluto has not occupied the constellation of Capricorn since the time of the American Revolution - 1762 to 1777!

There is more news, for September will be a major month for your career. Mars entered your tenth house of fame and honors late last month and is still busy raising your profile with VIPs. With Venus in the same area of the chart, you will make a very favorable impression on management, so if there were ever a time to go for the gold, it's now!

If you hope to get a new position, promotion, or client, or if you want to launch a major career effort, do so in early September, when aspects will benefit you most.

Once Mercury begins to retrograde in your career sector on September 24 until October 15, delays, cancellations, and changes in direction will plague you. Things will start to go awry sooner than September 24, so don't plan on working too closely up to this date. Don't accept or begin a new job at that time, and don't plan to sign any contracts either. It's also not wise to make any large purchases - especially not electronics or computers - for whatever you buy will not deliver the pleasure you anticipate.

Still, you will see career opportunities arise the moment the new moon, September 29, arrives, for it will brilliantly light your house of professional honors and achievements. Because Mercury will be retrograde, you will want to proceed slowly, and you have time to conduct leisurely talks. It would be best to seal your deals late next month, near the new moon on October 28. The exception? If a former employer contacts you, you can move ahead, for Mercury will be urging you to move forward by using an experience from the past.

Romance is possible, too, even though you do have a great deal on your plate this month! Your best time will be when Venus moves into Scorpio and your house of friends, fun, and events, from September 23 to October 18.

The Disappearing Cappy...

Hi everyone....I'm new to this group, but found it while doing some research on Capricorns...so here's my story...please be kind and read it...I'm in desperate need of answers...

Five months ago, I found out this guy; a Capricorn, was interested in me. I wasn't exactly interested in dating anyone, but we have similar experiences...both have a divorce under our belt and children...so I gave him my number. He has some of the same friends that I do and I always thought he was very aloof, cold and not very friendly; however, once he got my number, he started to text me almost every day. We started communicating very casually, then I met him while he was out with mutual friends and finally about a month into it I agreed to meet just him for a drink. We had a great time. I was blown away by how much he talked to me. He even told me that he felt very comfortable around me. Our mutual friends couldn't get over it. So we began to spend about three days a week together. I have my kids for most of the week and he has on the weekends not to mention his work schedule is insane. Everything was wonderful. It was the most comfortable relationship that I've ever been in. He was very caring, open and was totally into me.

At the beginning of July, a bunch of financial issues started to come up for him. He started working even more hours, was going to have to move out of his apartment and was just plain worn out. We continued to see each other the same amount of time and when were together everything was fine, but when we weren't it was if he disappeared. I was trying to give him space...didn't call or text him unless it was something that couldn't wait until the next time I saw him...because I knew he was under a lot of stress. Then about three weeks ago, he told me he couldn't do this right now. We broke up. We were to get together a few days later, but I didn't have a car so I had to cancel. Then I ran into him while out the next week. He was very uncomfortable...I was being very friendly and talking to him, but he couldn't seem to handle it. When I left, he walked me out and kissed me...telling me he really does like me and missed me, but that's it...all communication stopped...we were to get together a few days later to exchange stuff, but the day of he said it was a bad idea...

It just so happens that a friend of mine needed to rent her place (she moved out of state) and I thought of him because he had given notice at his apartment and was unsure of where he was going to go. I sort of got the word out to some of our mutual friends and he got in contact with me about it...and he's taking the place...which I have to get him the key so I'll be seeing him in a few days.

I just don't know what to do because we got along so well. We could talk, never fought, enjoyed each others company it was easy and now it just sucks. I'm not sure how to approach things with him. BTW, I'm an aquarius and he does have some trust issues from his ex-wife.

I could use some understanding and encouragement from my fellow cappies. It seems that at this point in my life, I've gotten myself into a situation that I know is morally questionable. But I can't honestly admit to myself that I'm regretful for getting into it. It's become a HUGE source of emotional/mental pain for me. I know the correct, logical thing to do would be to get out of the situation. But my emotional self doesn't have the strength to let go. I know surely I'm not the only goat who's been stuck in such hole. But it always feels like you're the only one when you're going through it. I want to be strong to do the right thing, but I feel I need more help than I can give myself. I need that extra cappie boost.

Cap disappears and calls 2 1/2 months later

Met Cap back in September. Hit it off immediately. I know it sounds cliche but it was something I can't even describe. I felt that we would have a fruitful relationship as well as long lasting. A little after a month, communication slowed down. Let me just get it out that I'm an Aqua with Moon, Mercury, and Venus in Cap (as well as other planets in Cap). I did synastry charts and not surprised, we have 11 positive aspects and one negative aspect out of twelve. I think that's why we hit it off so well. Distance grew between us but I knew in my gut he had deep feelings. I just knew it. As much as I wanted to deny it, I couldn't. But it baffles me. The more we grew apart, the nicer and sweeter he became, as well as watching me from afar like he never had before. Almost as if he wanted to come over and talk to me but couldn't.
Initially, he was a piece of work. By far the most difficult person to get to know. I thought I was difficult, this guy takes the cake. It felt like he wanted to submit to me but kept me at arms length.

I'll admit, I'm overly independent and aloof. I can't help it. I called when he asked or called every two weeks on the weekends. I was in no way clingy or a doormat to him. Trust me on that. Anyway, we stop speaking around the middle of November (we weren't official, just getting to know eachother). No contact after that. Calls me on January 28th after 2 1/2 months. We talk briefly because I was in a rush and was so tired of the push-pull cycle ( I think I contributed by I'm not sure). So I stopped picking up his phone calls and decided to move on. Why be into me, disappear and reappear? That is something I will absolutely will not tolerate unless he is deciding to commit to me or has a legit reason.

Want to know the kicker? He continued to call every single week at least twice for TWO MONTHS STRAIGHT. Unbelievable. Maybe more, I stopped counting after two months.

I don't care so much for him anymore but I'm just curious as to why this happened. I know I'm not the only person who experienced this from a Cap. It frustrates me because he's such a good person. If he just wasn't so mistrusting. He's made it clear on numerous occasions he very mistrusting of females.

And the only difference between our charts besides the Sun is his Moon is in Leo and Venus in Aquarius.

Hi Caps!

Thought I'd take this right to the source, hope ya don't mind. One of the traits of your sign is to be hard-working, and deeply focused on your job and work. Sometimes to a fault--in that Caps don't always make time to "stop and smell the roses". Well, as a Pisces female involved with a Cap, I've got to wonder how much his dedication to his job influences his life? He spends so much time wrapped up in his company, that even spending time together is hard. My tender Piscean heart can't take too much neglect! ;P

It's been almost a month, and we are going along soooo slowly. He is continuously pulling away and then coming back around. Kind of a "Come here, come here, get away, come here!" thing. I feel as if I have to show him support and positive feedback all the time, which I don't mind, but once in awhile it'd be nice to have some of his time. From what I've read, slow & steady works best with Cappricorns because they need time to open up and trust, so a slow start is pretty typical. Not having dated a Cap before, is this demand for patience due to typical Capricorn ambition--or just typical male-ness? LOL. Because its true that Pisces tend to need time to themselves as a retreat--but not ALL the time! (We need attention darnit, or we'll swim away! ;)

So how do you Capricorns value/balance/feel about your work lives vs. your personal lives? Will work always ultimately win out?

My Year So Far

It's been pretty wild. I'm a Cap/Virgo/Scorpio and since Janauary, we had to put our old dog to sleep, I had another skin cancer scare (it wasn't), had a bad experience with alcohol and subsequent intervention by my family, AND I now have Bell's Palsy.

I don't remember seeing anything like this in my forecast...

Hey..I thought I should join this tribe as I find it very informative. I've been keeping track for a while now because my "interest" is in fact a Capricorn...very much so! :D There seems to be a fatal attraction between us and alot of tension but we both care for one another alot. But I will say one thing ist'snot bin easy and for now I know it's not going to be but I see something in the long run. Neither of us are superficial either.

But the sad thing about it is he is carrying alot of guilt and unresolved issues which he needs to overcome and shed. I feel he is in a transition phase right now and this must be difficult.. I realise that this will be a slow process but will have its rewards i the end.
Normally Aquarius and Capricorns are a no go but i'm not the typical Aquarius lol I know how those are.
Due to the fact that I have a strong scorpio/pluto/8th house influence in my natal chart. Scorpio moon conjunct Pluto, 8th house venus and saturn and Pluto making aspects to my personal planets and my MC in Cap.

This may explain why I have a weak spot for the Goat ^_~

He has Sun, Venus, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune in Cap and Moon in Taurus...

ok since everyone is on the combination of signs, I'll toss my insane relationship in there. My girl and I have dated for 5 years now, she is a Libra (oct. 21) and Im Cap 1 (dec. 29) definetly a strained relationship at times and other times is so great its almost intoxicating. she also asks me if Im angry with her or in a bad mood when Im just sitting and not talking. and when I tell her that Im fine she gets apprehensive thinking im lying.

OK! So am I the only one that has had the worst possible last 3 years ever!!!!
Also, on another note: Is it true the Sag and Cappy are impossible? I have a gemini rising, if it makes any difference.
Whats so bad you ask? lets see: I have a chronic disease (ulcerative colitis)- my girlfriend (now x) totally broke my heart and left me devistated! I now live in a foreign country, thousands of miles from anyone I know and love, and the only chicks I meet are either boring as hell, or just want sex.
Its seems astrologers are saying "cappy, your getting over a difficult time, now is the promised period, blahahhh"- and things kinda still suck!!!
So what gives?!!!!!!!!!???!
I met a sag girl- seems nice enough, but...well being cappy- you'll know I'm not into one night stands or anything. We had sex on the 2nd date. And I'm thinking...ok, this was OK, but is it what I want?

Caps And Aquas--Different than you may think

Hello everyone. I'm new to this site. I've been hanging out on Dxpnet.com which is also a good site for astrology.
Anyway, I've been reading that Caps and Aquas usually don't work and I don't believe this is true for all cases. The closest people in my life have been Caps. I had a cap best friend for 6 years who I grew up with (Virgo moon), the family members I've been closest to have been Caps and this guy I dated is also a Cap with Leo moon. First guy I ever genuinely liked. The first time we hung out together, we just knew. I don't know if this a coincidence or not, but my former best friend and the Cap I dated have their birthdays 1 day apart and share MANY disturbing similarities that doesn't even correlate to astrology. I was spooked. Still am.

Caps have been the only sign that I seem to share the same mentality and interests with. (And Tauruses here and there). From my experience, all other signs just don't do it for me. Honestly. I don't experience that spark I do with Caps. Every other sign seems so foreign to me. I don't know what it is. I don't go out looking for them. I meet them and it's not until we get to know eachother better that I ask for their b-day and...well...you know the rest.

What I've been trying to say is that there aren't just twelve kinds of people in the world. When I hear that this sign doesn't work out with that sign, I usually ignore it because it goes much deeper than just a sun sign.

Capricorn Ex-boyf wants me back - what to do???????

was with a Capricorn guy for about 8 months - I'm 24, he's 34. All of a sudden he started acting a little shady/distant...he was having work problems.

One Saturday morning he told me he was busy with a few things - I happen to see him (no joke) walking on the coast with anohter woman (quite a bit older than me) and her dog. I flipped out and approached - he said there's nothing going on - he had just been made redundant the day before, the girl works in recruitment/human resources and he was asking for advice. Turns out she's married and does work for the company he said in recruitment.

Still, he lied to me, and I still don't believe his story - get the niggling feeling he was cheating?????

He then said he needed a break to sort himself out and was going to Europe - he started packing his bags - but never went!

So, given the above, all the lies, I told him where to go and we're over.

In the past couple of months I've found out he was in some serious family/criminal trouble - obviously didn't want to tell me.

Just last week he sends a massive bouquet of flowers to my house (I still live at home with my parents) and a hand-written letter saying he loves me, misses me, has so much to explain but doesn't know where to start

I've ignored it - threw out the flowers - but its so hard. I loved this guy, we had spoken about marriage etc, just don't know what to do.

Okay, to add to the growing list of what signs make good romantic partners, have any of you other caps had a successful relationship with an aquarius? From what I've read it's bad news. Other facts about me, my moon is in Pisces and my rising sign is Gemini. We've been together for about 1.5 years. We split up for a couple of months and now we're back together. I'm more drawn to this person than I've been to anyone else in my life. And the sex is explosive, the best I've ever had. Sorry to be intruding. I am a taurus. My boyfriend is a cap, 1/6. He works very hard and sometimes, as he calls it, only has enough bandwidth in his head for certain things. Im new and just happened to stumble upon this site by "accident".

I am a capricorn - born January 16 1973 in a South African city called East London at 17h30 in the afternoon. All my horoscopes are telling me that 2008 will be the "best year of my life" because of Pluto and jupiter in my sun sign.....but i dont have a clue what is happening when these planets are there!!
